The Long Way Home
The oldest story ever told is about trying to get home.
Homer's Odyssey is nearly three thousand years old and it is still being told — because the journey it describes is not a voyage across the Mediterranean. It is the interior journey every person takes when the life they expected is taken from them and they must find their way back to who they are. Odysseus does not simply travel. He is unmade, tested, and rebuilt — over and over — until he is finally ready to arrive.
