Sherlock: Season 2

Season 2 of Sherlock elevated the show from cult hit to global phenomenon. The three episodes adapt the most famous Conan Doyle stories: A Scandal in Belgravia introduces Irene Adler as a dominatrix who trades in classified information and becomes the one person who genuinely outsmarts Holmes; The Hounds of Baskerville trades London for Dartmoor and a military conspiracy; and The Reichenbach Fall builds to the series' most devastating cliffhanger. Andrew Scott's Moriarty moves from shadowy threat to full-screen presence, culminating in the rooftop confrontation that left audiences debating for two years. The season refines the show's visual language, with the mind palace becoming a key technique and text-on-screen storytelling reaching new sophistication. The relationship between Sherlock and John deepens, and the season's emotional climax, Sherlock's apparent death, redefined what television mystery could do.
