THE VERDICT

Synthesized from published reviews

Director Josh Trank revitalized the found-footage genre with this unsparing, realistic dark origin story of teenage telekinesis. Dane DeHaan gives a chillingly tragic performance as a troubled youth corrupted by unchecked power. It is a lean, innovative, and visceral psychological thriller that subverts standard superhero narratives.
