THE VERDICT

Synthesized from published reviews

Alan Moore's literary crossover masterpiece receives a blockbuster treatment that sacrifices cerebral subversion for explosive Victorian steampunk spectacle. Sean Connery anchors the chaos with authoritative gravitas in his final live-action role, leading a cast of iconic fictional archetypes. Though visually ambitious and culturally infamous, the overstuffed script ultimately buckles under its own excess.
