THE VERDICT

Synthesized from published reviews

Michel Gondry's quirky visual style clashes awkwardly with Seth Rogen's slacker comedy in this eccentric comic book adaptation. Jay Chou steals the show as a brilliant Kato, but the central character dynamic feels frequently grating and tonally confused. Despite inventive action photography, the film fails to find a cohesive voice.
