Us is Jordan Peele's 2019 follow-up to Get Out, a horror-mystery in which a family's beach vacation is interrupted by attackers who look exactly like them. Lupita Nyong'o leads a dual performance of extraordinary range as the threat closes in, while the film builds on Peele's gift for crowd-pleasing scares with a social current underneath. In Horror it confirmed the most important new voice in American horror was no one-film wonder — and gave the collection one of its most rewatchable puzzle boxes.

THE VERDICT
Synthesized from published reviews
Jordan Peele delivers a haunting psychological nightmare anchored by Lupita Nyong'o's astonishing dual performance as Adelaide and her terrifying tethered counterpart Red. The film combines chilling home-invasion horror with ambitious allegorical subtext about class division and hidden national trauma. It is a brilliantly executed, thought-provoking thriller that lingers long after the credits.
