THE VERDICT
Synthesized from published reviews
Dave Filoni's animated series shifts focus to the ground-level mechanics of the Galactic Civil War through the eyes of young ace Kazuda Xiono. While lighter in tone than its predecessors, the show offers sharp world-building around the fringe outposts of the galaxy before seamlessly tying into the events of the sequel trilogy. It stands as an enjoyable, character-driven entry for fans seeking a fresh perspective on the Star Wars saga.
PLACE IN THE UNIVERSE
Where this fits in the larger story
Running concurrently with The Last Jedi and leading into The Rise of Skywalker, Resistance Season 2 fills the gap between Episodes VIII and IX for this corner of the galaxy. Its events overlap with the Sequel Trilogy climax and provide context for the broader First Order conflict.
