Interstellar
November 5, 2014 in theaters
With Earth slowly becoming uninhabitable, a former NASA pilot is recruited for a last-chance mission through a mysterious wormhole to find humanity a new home -- leaving behind his daughter and everything familiar. Christopher Nolan's 2014 film is an attempt to reconcile cosmic-scale science fiction with something deeply personal: the cost of time, and the distance love can travel across it.

THE VERDICT
Synthesized from published reviews
Interstellar is one of those films that rewards the size of the screen you watch it on and the patience you bring to it. Nolan is operating at his most ambitious here -- using real astrophysics not as backdrop but as emotional architecture, particularly in how time dilation reframes the father-daughter story at the film's core. It doesn't tie every thread neatly, and that's the point. Few blockbusters from the last decade have swung this hard at genuine awe, and fewer have gotten this close.
