THE VERDICT
Synthesized from published reviews
DreamWorks Animation goes somewhere it has rarely been before -- rooted in Filipino mythology, genuine emotional stakes, and an original story not borrowed from IP. Forgotten Island earns its Fantasy Realms placement honestly: a magical world with its own rules, real creatures drawn from Filipino folklore (Manananggal, Batibat, Tiyanak), and a friendship at its center that the film actually makes you care about. Directed by the Puss in Boots: The Last Wish team, this carries that same quality stamp. One to watch.
