THE VERDICT

Synthesized from published reviews

Samuel Jackson brings commanding authority to the true story of high school basketball coach Ken Carter, who benched his undefeated team over poor grades. The film handles familiar inspirational sports tropes with conviction and a welcome focus on academic responsibility. It stands as a robust, well-acted entry in the high school sports drama canon.
