THE VERDICT

Synthesized from published reviews

Spike Lee's visually striking basketball drama explores the predatory nature of collegiate recruiting through a strained father-son dynamic. Denzel Washington gives a masterful performance alongside NBA star Ray Allen, scored magnificently to the music of Aaron Copland and Public Enemy. It is a complex, poetic exploration of ambition, regret, and family.
