THE VERDICT

Synthesized from published reviews

David Ward's 1993 collegiate football drama takes an unfiltered look at the pressure, performance-enhancing drugs, and corruption surrounding big-money sports. Featuring intense gridiron action and solid turns from James Caan, Omar Epps, and Halle Berry, it pulls few punches regarding NCAA hypocrisies. It remains a gritty, compelling critique of athletic ambition.
