THE VERDICT

Synthesized from published reviews

Chadwick Boseman delivers a heroic, deeply dignified breakthrough performance as Jackie Robinson breaking the Major League Baseball color line. Supported by a fiery Harrison Ford as Branch Rickey, director Brian Helgeland handles an essential chapter of American history with reverence and emotional power. It is a vital, inspiring biopic that honors courage in the face of deep-seated hatred.
