THE VERDICT

Synthesized from published reviews

This violent superhero sequel doubles down on vulgarity and crude shock tactics while losing the satire and heart that made the original compelling. Chloe Grace Moretz still commands the screen as Hit-Girl, but the convoluted plot and mean-spirited tone hamper the momentum. It is strictly for diehard fans of the comic series who do not mind diminishing returns.
