Mortal Kombat: Annihilation
November 11, 1997 in theaters
A group of heroic warriors has only six days to save the planet in "Mortal Kombat Annihilation." To succeed they must survive the most spectacular series of challenges any human, or god, has ever encountered as they battle an evil warlord bent on taking control of Earth.

THE VERDICT
Synthesized from published reviews
The rush to capitalize on the first film's success produced a sequel that replaced most of the original's cast, softened the things that worked, and leaned heavily on early CGI that the years have not been kind to. Robin Shou returns and carries his scenes with commitment, but the film around him struggles to maintain any consistent momentum or logic. As a follow-up it represents a significant drop-off — honest fans of the original deserve to know that going in. It belongs in the OTHERverse catalog as a necessary artifact: the chapter that closed the book on the first era of live-action Mortal Kombat.
