Star Trek: Deep Space Nine — Season 6
September 29, 1997 on Paramount+
The Dominion War drives the season as Sisko fights to retake Deep Space Nine while managing shifting alliances, the Cardassian underground resistance, and the moral cost of total war. Season 6 includes 'In the Pale Moonlight,' in which Sisko crosses a clear ethical line to keep the Romulans in the war -- one of the franchise's most morally complex hours.

THE VERDICT
Synthesized from published reviews
Breaking away from episodic starship exploration, this ground-breaking series tackles serialized politics, moral ambiguity, and the dark reality of interstellar war on a Bajoran space station. Led by Avery Brooks as Commander Sisko, it features the most complex character relationships and long-term storytelling in the entire franchise. It remains the most sophisticated and critically acclaimed chapter of television Star Trek.
