THE VERDICT
Synthesized from published reviews
A conclusion that earns its weight more than any Bond finale had a right to expect. The film spends time and care on Bond as a person rather than a function, and the choice it makes in its final act is the logical culmination of everything the Craig era was building toward. Rami Malek's villain is underdeveloped, and the runtime is generous. But the closing sequences achieve a genuine emotional register that leaves the franchise in a different place than it found it.
