THE VERDICT
Synthesized from published reviews
The Craig era overextending itself in an attempt to give four films' worth of personal mythology a coherent conclusion. Christoph Waltz is underused as a villain the script reduces to Bond's nemesis by decree rather than by dramatic logic. The pre-title Mexico City sequence is extraordinary, and the film is handsome throughout. But the attempts to reframe the entire Craig run as a single story feel forced, and the finale is unconvincing. A disappointment calibrated to high expectations.
