The film's release was delayed nine months to convert it to 3D -- allowing reshoots that added more Channing Tatum content.
THE VERDICT
Synthesized from published reviews
A sequel that effectively reboots its own cast mid-franchise and is more confident for it. Dwayne Johnson brings a physical and charismatic presence the first film lacked, and the Ninja mountain sequence is a genuinely inventive action set piece. The plot logic is no more durable than the original, but the film moves at a brisker pace. A modest improvement that never transcended the limitations of its concept.
