DID YOU KNOW?
Director Stephen Sommers updated the franchise for a global audience -- which is why the team is international rather than exclusively American.
THE VERDICT
Synthesized from published reviews
A live-action adaptation that prioritizes franchise setup and action spectacle over character or coherence, which is at least consistent with the toy-line-to-screen challenge it inherited. The accelerator suits sequence is a legitimate set piece. Channing Tatum and Marlon Wayans are more likeable than the script requires them to be. A film that delivered what the toy-to-screen pipeline tends to produce -- loud, kinetic, and largely disposable.
