The franchise reaching its logical endpoint -- a film so dense with mythology, plot mechanics, and visual noise that coherence is no longer the goal. Anthony Hopkins appears and commits with a sincerity the film around him does not always earn. The Arthurian mythology integration is more distracting than enriching. A film that exhausted the patience of a significant portion of its audience and led to a production pause that the franchise needed.
