The film is set hundreds of years after the previous trilogy -- allowing a complete world reset while honoring Caesar's legacy.
THE VERDICT
Synthesized from published reviews
A confident generational leap that wisely avoids treating Caesar's legacy as a burden to be explained rather than a myth to be interpreted. The world-building is assured and the new protagonist earns his own arc rather than living in the shadow of what came before. The action is competent without being distinctive, and the film's third-act setup for future entries is more intriguing than its immediate resolution. A promising foundation for wherever the franchise goes next.
