THE VERDICT
Synthesized from published reviews
The franchise's long-delayed third entry arrives with a premise -- a Program entering the physical world -- that inverts the original's fish-out-of-water dynamic with genuine conceptual interest. The visual language has been updated without abandoning what made the series distinctive, and the film's engagement with what digital identity means in a world that has changed substantially since 1982 gives it a currency the earlier sequels lacked. Whether it fully earns its mythology is a question the franchise's next move will answer.
