Filming at Buckingham Palace required special permission from the British Royal Family -- a scale replica was built for most interior scenes.
THE VERDICT
Synthesized from published reviews
A sequel that replicates the formula without materially improving it -- more locations, more puzzles, more supporting players -- and runs largely on the goodwill of the original. The presidential kidnapping conceit is more outlandish than anything in the first film and the film embraces it with matching confidence. Ed Harris makes a credible antagonist and Helen Mirren is a welcome addition. A functional continuation for those who wanted exactly more of the same.
