Jurassic World
June 6, 2015 in theaters
Twenty-two years after Jurassic Park’s catastrophic failure, a fully operational dinosaur theme park is running on Isla Nublar — until a genetically engineered hybrid predator escapes containment and the illusion of control collapses. The 2015 film relaunched the Jurassic franchise with a new generation of characters.

DID YOU KNOW?
The Indominus Rex's design was kept secret during production -- even cast members didn't know what it looked like until filming.
THE VERDICT
Synthesized from published reviews
A slick and commercially confident revival that succeeds primarily on nostalgia and production value. Chris Pratt's Raptor trainer premise stretches credulity, and the film's corporate-theme-park satire is largely abandoned in favor of standard creature-feature escalation. The climactic set piece delivers on spectacle. As a franchise relaunch it is effective; as a film in its own right it is thinner than it appears.
