THE VERDICT
Synthesized from published reviews
A reunion that mostly misjudges what made the originals work. The Crystal Skull mythology swaps biblical menace for science-fiction abstraction, and the film's reliance on CGI spectacle in place of practical tension makes it feel unmoored from its own world. Ford remains watchable, and there are a handful of solid sequences, but the film struggles to find the right register throughout. More a reminder of what was great than a genuine continuation of it.
