Isis (1975)

THE VERDICT

Synthesized from published reviews

Isis is a Saturday morning television pilot that introduced one of the first female superhero leads in American live-action television — a science teacher who transforms into the Egyptian goddess to right wrongs and educate her students. JoAnna Cameron's Andrea Thomas is earnest and capable, and the show's dual identity structure mirrors the Superman format while centering a woman in the role with straightforward, uncommented-upon authority. The special effects are modest and the villains are episodic rather than consequential, as the format required. Assessed as a piece of children's television from 1975, it is historically significant and age-appropriately functional.

Isis (1975) sits within DC's broader screen legacy, outside the main modern connected continuities. It connects a specific character or comic-book lane with the long history of DC adaptations before shared universes became the default model. Its placement helps viewers understand this title as part of the wider DC xVERSE archive rather than a direct step in the DCEU or DCU timeline.
