THE VERDICT
Synthesized from published reviews
Venom: The Last Dance was always intended to close out the trilogy, and it does — efficiently if not memorably. Tom Hardy remains the best argument for these films' existence, and the Eddie-Venom relationship has developed a lived-in ease that the earlier entries had to work harder to establish. The Knull mythology introduced here is visually ambitious but narratively thin, and the film's pace rarely allows its ideas to settle. It ends the Sony Venom saga on a note that is less a culmination than a wind-down, which may be the most honest conclusion a film in this position could manage.
PLACE IN THE UNIVERSE
Where this fits in the larger story
Venom: The Last Dance sits in Sony's Spider-Man-adjacent live-action universe, a branch that explores characters connected to Spider-Man mythology outside the core MCU path. It connects antiheroes, villains, and side-corners of Marvel lore with a separate continuity focused on darker or stranger character arcs. Its placement helps viewers distinguish this lane from MCU Spider-Man and the animated Spider-Verse.
