Ant-Man and the Wasp

THE VERDICT

Synthesized from published reviews

A deliberate step back from the scale of Infinity War — smaller stakes, faster jokes, and a genuine investment in the Hope van Dyne and Janet van Dyne relationship that the original film had neglected. The Quantum Realm mechanics are introduced here as a plot device and used inventively enough that the film earns its MacGuffin status. Ghost is a more sympathetic antagonist than most of the franchise managed in this era, even if the resolution to her arc feels rushed. A reliable second entry that does exactly what a palate-cleanser sequel needs to do.
