Marvel's Runaways
November 21, 2017 on Tubi
Six teenagers discover their parents are secretly a criminal organization called the Pride — and that each of them has inherited an ability or weapon tied to their parents’ work. The Hulu series follows the kids as they go on the run, try to undo what their parents have done, and figure out who they are without the families they thought they knew.

THE VERDICT
Synthesized from published reviews
Marvel's Runaways is a more patient and character-driven series than its premise suggests. Rather than rushing to superpowers and action, the show takes time establishing why these six teenagers feel like distinct individuals — and why their shared horror at their parents' crimes lands with real weight. The Hulu format allows for longer episode runtimes that the ensemble benefits from, and the first season is the most focused of the three. Later seasons expand the mythology at the cost of some character clarity, and the cancellation left threads unresolved. A genuinely strong first season and a show that deserved a cleaner conclusion.
PLACE IN THE UNIVERSE
Where this fits in the larger story
Marvel's Runaways belongs to Marvel's wider screen history, outside a single clean continuity unless the record clearly connects it to the MCU. It adapts familiar Marvel characters through its own branch of superhero, fantasy, or action storytelling. Its placement helps viewers understand how this title fits the broader Marvel xVERSE while keeping separate continuities from being blended together.
