Daredevil
April 10, 2015 on Disney+
Blinded as a boy but gifted with heightened senses, Matt Murdock practices law by day in Hell's Kitchen and fights crime as the masked vigilante Daredevil by night. The Netflix series grounds Marvel's street-level world in crime drama, Catholic guilt, and the moral cost of violence across three seasons.

THE VERDICT
Synthesized from published reviews
The Netflix Daredevil set a standard for street-level superhero television that has not been matched since. Charlie Cox brings an unusual physical and moral intelligence to Matt Murdock — a man whose faith and violence are in constant negotiation — and Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk is one of the great villain performances in the genre: operatic, lonely, and genuinely frightening. The first season is nearly flawless; the second expands the world with Elektra and the Punisher at the cost of some focus; the third recovers and delivers a finale worthy of the whole run. Taken together, it remains the high watermark of Marvel's Netflix era.
PLACE IN THE UNIVERSE
Where this fits in the larger story
Daredevil sits in Marvel's pre-MCU or non-MCU screen legacy, adapting comic-book characters through a separate continuity. It connects Marvel's larger history of heroes, antiheroes, and experiments in genre storytelling before the modern shared universe became dominant. Its placement helps viewers understand this title as part of the wider Marvel xVERSE without treating it as core MCU canon.
