Moon Knight
March 30, 2022 on Disney+
When Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life, he discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.

THE VERDICT
Synthesized from published reviews
Oscar Isaac gives two distinct, fully inhabited performances as Marc Spector and Steven Grant, and the show is worth watching entirely for that work. The identity-fracture framing is handled with more care than many genre treatments manage, and the Egyptian mythology gives the series a visual identity that sets it apart from the Disney+ house style. The final two episodes abandon the character work for standard MCU action mechanics, and the resolution feels rushed relative to what the series built. A mid-tier MCU entry that would rank higher if it had trusted its own strangeness all the way through.
