The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

THE VERDICT

Synthesized from published reviews

The MCU's most politically direct project — the series frames the Captain America legacy as a question about race and national identity rather than a straightforward inheritance story, and Anthony Mackie carries that argument with conviction across six episodes. The Bucky dynamic is the series' most enjoyable element and also its least politically engaged, which creates a tonal imbalance the show never fully resolves. The Flag Smashers are underdeveloped as antagonists, and the finale compresses resolutions the series had been building toward. Stronger in its argument than its execution, but the argument is worth making.
